Microsoft to end support to older version of Internet Explorer on January 12, 2016

According to Microsoft, Beginning January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical supports and security updates. Internet Explorer 11 is the last version of Internet Explorer, and will continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

Running older versions of Internet Explorer after January 12, 2016 may expose you to potential risks, such as: security, compliance, lack of ISV support. Please plan to upgrade your Internet Explorer version.

Note that gGastro runs successfully on Internet Explorer 11, 10 and 9, however running versions other than 11 post January 12, 2016 may expose you to the above mentioned risks.

Important: IP Address Range Announcement

gMed has recently expanded its corporate infrastructure. In an effort to maintain seamless connectivity for support, please verify that your infrastructure security is configured to allow traffic to and from the following additional IP address range:

162.199.197.65 – 162.199.197.69

If necessary, please forward this request to your IT personnel, as they’ll need to verify this provision is in place before Monday, November 16, 2015.

Template Builder training videos are available on the gBUS for review at any time.
While information on the tool is available in the gGastro 4.55/4.56/4.57 release notes, as well as a series of training videos we have created, you may have additional questions as you begin to use the tool. Important Message: 4.56 Post-Upgrade Information

Immediately following your 4.56 upgrade, you may experience an issue with some or all of your video capture workstations. This issue is resolved by running the Cleanup under Configuration > Workstation Setup.

The clean-up is an action that deletes the IE temp files and the downloaded .DLLs for the specific workstation. This will force the workstation to download the most recent DLLs from the server when accessing the workstation setup area again. When run, the system will prompt you to close your current tab. Click on yes and confirm that you are going to close the tab.

**It is important to note that you will need to close every internet program when running this tool otherwise they will not delete the temp files. This includes other tabs of IE and potentially other programs that could use the temp files listed in the folder. One of the easiest ways to verify that nothing is accessing that folder is to restart the computer before running a cleanup**

There are two ways to complete this task…

  1. Once the user is logged into the workstation, log into gGastro > select configuration > workstation setup > Cleanup

  2. Delete the DL3 folder, this does not require access to gGastro which may be more favorable for your IT team especially if they have a GPO where they may be able to deploy a logon script to delete this folder.

a. Windows XP:

 %userprofile%\Local Settings\ApplicationData\assembly\dl3

b. Windows vista and above:

%userprofile%\appdata\local\assembly\DL3
