CMS has released the 2018 ICD-10-CM codes to be used for discharges and for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018.
The coding updates will be automatically pushed by gMed to the Diagnosis search engine and will be available in gGastro as of October 1, 2017. No version upgrade is required.
While the database search results will reflect the updates, any codes that are manually configured in gGastro user lists, or other areas, must be manually updated to reflect the correct codes. Please refer to the CMS website for the full list of changes.
Here’s an update on some MIPS reporting rules for providers under certain Alternative Payment Models:
Do I have to submit the measure data for Advancing Care Information Category measures if I am part of the Medicare Shared Savings Program (Tracks 1, 2 and 3)?
If you are part of the Medicare Shared Savings Program (Tracks 1, 2, and 3), you must submit ACI at the TIN level through group reporting.
What if my ACO does not successfully report quality measures through the CMS Web Interface?
While unlikely, since most ACOs successfully report quality measures through the CMS Web Interface, if you believe your ACO won’t report what it needs to under the Shared Savings Program, your group can submit quality data under your group’s TIN for the performance year under any of the MIPS standard reporting options.
If the ACO doesn’t meet its reporting requirements, CMS will look for and use any other quality data that may have been submitted. This means you can submit your quality data via gGastro eCQMs or via another route as a backup.

gMed has completed the testing with OneHealthPort and confirmed the support of gGastro
C-CDA data submissions to the CDR.
The OneHealthPort Clinical Data Repository (CDR) is the Washington State Health Authority’s clinical data repository for Medicaid patients. For more information about OneHealthPort, please visit the website: http://www2.modmed.com/e/27382/2017-02-16/78jhnd/1037694747.
OneHealthPort provides several options for secure transport of the C-CDAs to the CDR. gGastro clients will need to use the Direct Method to submit their C-CDAs.

We are excited to announce that gMed is in the process of updating our client support center and knowledge base to create a new client success hub.
Just as you implemented our technologies in your practice with the goal to increase efficiencies and enhance the patient experience, gMed is working toward a similar objective to increase our efficiencies by streamlining our internal systems, which includes an update to our client support center.
What is changing?
Starting in January, our support center will change its interface as we update our case submission process.
- We will have a new platform for you to submit and keep track of your support cases. During this initial phase, you will be directed to a new support center from the current Zoho Support Portal to submit support cases. This will require a new login to submit a case.
- Please look for a separate email from firstname.lastname@example.org with your login information to the updated support center in order to submit a support case.
- Our Knowledge Base, where you currently access self-service articles and information, will remain on the same platform, Zoho Support Portal, with the same login credentials you currently use.
How will this benefit gMed clients?
While we update our client support center, we ask for your patience. When complete, the gMed Client Success Community will provide an avenue where clients can discuss, post, vote, and promote new product enhancements, get details on their support cases, and exchange ideas about gMed products and services, all in one place.

gKiosk is intended to improve the patient check in process at your practice. This product allows patients to update personal information and medical history, as well as electronically sign consent forms, through an iPad app when they arrive for their appointment, removing the need for paper forms.
