Positive Developments in the Ongoing Change Healthcare Outage — April 19, 2024

We are pleased to inform you of positive developments related to the ongoing Change Healthcare (CHC) outage, which has impacted outbound electronic clinical lab ordering and inbound clinical results in gGastro®  since Wednesday, February 21, 2024. 

 

During a meeting between ModMed® employees and CHC’s Clinical Exchange Team earlier this week on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, CHC verbally communicated plans to gradually start restoring lab exchange services beginning the week of Monday, April 22, 2024.  

As a reminder, restoration will not be instantaneous. There will be a delay between CHC’s restoration of services and the restoration of related lab services in gGastro as our team conducts testing. Restoring services safely and enabling their reliability going forward is a top priority for our organization and will require additional steps to be taken by our team once CHC has confirmed that services are restored on their end.

CHC plans to share its progress with us through frequent updates and has stated that it will provide written updates on UnitedHealth Group’s CHC status page. Please bear in mind that CHC could change its timeline, which is outside of ModMed’s control. 

Until the services are restored, please continue to print or fax the PDF lab requisition that can be generated from gGastro for outbound lab orders and instruct the laboratory to fax (or courier) inbound clinical results directly to your practice. To reference other information we have previously shared concerning the CHC issue and its impacts on gGastro, please reference our communications in your email and/or ModMed Communities for gGastro. We will continue to provide you with updates as we work toward complete restoration of services. 

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause your practice. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work with CHC to resolve this issue.
