Patient Safety Alert: Issue Related to Printing, Faxing and Exporting Service Documents in gGastro®

An important patient safety issue related to printing, faxing or exporting service documents from gGastro® has been identified.  This issue occurs in gGastro® version 5.0 and beyond and does not impact earlier versions.

We are working to resolve this issue and plan to deploy a permanent fix in a near future release.

Documents that are faxed to recipients outside of gGastro® currently do not contain the patient footer information, except for on the first page.

Documents that are printed or exported may experience the following:

  • Patient information (typically found in the footer of the document) may be displayed in the header of the document(s).
  • Footer information may contain the practice URL
  • If the Headers and Footers are turned off in the workstation browser, then neither the patient information nor the URL appears on the document.

Workaround:

While we work to implement a permanent fix, we suggest familiarizing yourself and your staff with the following print settings in both Chrome and Edge browsers.

In the Print Dialogue box that appears prior to printing documents, Select (check) the Headers and Footers check under Options. This setting may require adjustments by your local IT department (see image below).

It is suggested that this setting remain activated so that critical patient identification information remains on the document during printing and exporting.

Users who continue to use Internet Explorer will have no comparable setting to review

ModMed is committed to helping deliver the safest care to all of your patients and we apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused your practice. If you have any questions concerning this information, please contact our Support Team.
