gGastro® Product Update: How to Use the New Telehealth E/M Codes

On January 1, 2025, we uploaded the new telehealth Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes in gGastro®. You may review the American Medical Association information regarding the new telehealth codes here. We are writing to remind you of the recommended workflow to utilize the new telehealth E/M codes:

Step 1: Create a Telehealth Service Type in Templates Configuration.

Step 2: Configure default codes for the Telehealth Service Type in Coding Configuration under the Default Codes tab.

Step 3: Encourage the Provider to review and update the Coding Advisor as needed before processing the note.

For more details on these steps, please refer to the Quick Reference Guide (QRG).

Note: The default codes appear in the Procedure Codes section of the Coding Advisor. As a result, when processing the note, an alert is displayed indicating that charges will be created without E/M codes. However, the superbill generates with the code selected by the provider.
