We are writing to inform you that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the 2023 Final Score Preview and the Change Healthcare (CHC) Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) exception.
2023 Final Score Preview
CMS has announced that the MIPS Final Score Preview period for the 2023 performance year is now available to all clinicians and authorized representatives of practices, virtual groups, and Alternative Payment Model (APM) entities (including Shared Savings Program ACOs). You can now log in to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website to preview the MIPS final scores for the 2023 performance period.
CMS will release the payment adjustment information sometime in August 2024. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your final score preview, please reach out directly to CMS. Change Healthcare EUC Exception
CMS has opened the MIPS EUC application for the 2024 performance year in response to the CHC cyberattack in late February 2024. This is an effort to provide relief to MIPS-eligible clinicians impacted by the cyberattack incident. The application will remain open until 8:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Please note: Per CMS, applications due to the CHC cyberattack in late February should include “Ransom/Malware” as the Event Type. Once selected, confirm that the ransom/malware event pertained to the CHC cyberattack. Additional note: The 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency (PHE) ended on May 11, 2023, and CMS will not accept applications due to COVID-19 for the 2024 performance year.
