If you have already updated your devices to iOS/iPadOS 16, please disregard this message.
For those who have not yet updated your devices to iOS/iPadOS 16, we are writing to remind you that the deadline is fast approaching and to ensure continued functionality of ModMed iOS applications, all iOS devices must be updated to the minimum iOS version (v.16.0 or higher).
To stay in line with Apple’s recommended iOS security standards, ModMed will update its minimum iOS system requirements with the upcoming version release of gGastro®, tentatively planned for the end of March 2023.
Action Required
In March 2023, iOS/iPadOS 16 will be the minimum system requirement in order to run ModMed iOS applications. To ensure continued functionality, you must update all iOS devices to the minimum iOS version (v.16.0 or higher). Please update your devices now and prior to the upcoming version release of gGastro, tentatively planned for the end of March 2023.
Important Note: Some devices may need to be replaced in order to meet this requirement. For information on Apple’s compatible devices, please refer to the following resources:
We believe that this is a necessary update to help protect your practice and patient information, as Apple no longer supports its older iOS versions once it releases a new iOS, and it is not possible to ensure that unsupported devices and operating systems remain compliant with industry security standards.
This requirement will impact the following ModMed Gastroenterology mobile applications:
- gGastro Mobile
- gKiosk™
When will iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 be available?
Both iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are already available. Apple released iOS 16 on September 12, 2022 and iPadOS 16 on October 24, 2022. For more information on the iOS/iPadOS 16 release, please refer to iPadOS 16 and iOS 16.
How do I check my iPad’s software version?
On your iPad, go to “Settings”, tap on “General”, then tap on “About”. You’ll be able to check your iPad’s software version under the “Software Version” section. Ensure your iPad is running iPadOS 16.
How do I update my iPad’s software to iPadOS 16?
On your iPad, that is running iPadOS 15, go to “Settings”, tap on “General”, then tap on “Software Update”. If your iPad needs to be updated, you’ll be able to update it by tapping on “Upgrade to iPadOS 16” and then “Download and Install”. If you don’t see the option to update, it means that your device will no longer be supported and you will need to replace your iPad as soon as possible to ensure continued functionality of ModMed iOS applications.
